Landon is 6!

Posted by Tim 08 September 2010 1 comments

I can't believe my baby is 6! He's so big now.

Landon had a pirate party, and he has been so excited about it. Nana sent all this great pirate party stuff, costumes, and giant pirate coloring books for the boys. Mommy made a pirate ship cake with Pirate Larry at the wheel, and we had the makings of a great party. Then, today (his actual birthday) Daddy made him French Toast for breakfast, he got to watch as many movies as he wanted, we went to the pool at his request, he got his presents from us, and we had a steak dinner (which they all loved minus the green beans :))

My Little Star

Posted by Tim 06 October 2008 1 comments

Josiah has really begun to love music lately, and his favorite song is "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Although not every word is recognizable and the motions seem to be a little too complicated to sing with, it sure is cute. Enjoy...

trip to the zoo...

we took the grandparents and the kiddos to the zoo today... There are a lot of great shots on the embedded web album at the end of the post.

Here are the cutest of Landon feeding different animals... going inside the seal & lion cages are normally not permitted but a little 'tip' money seems to turn the right key. i don't ask they just do it.

sittin' on the elephant trunk... he didn't like it.

a little late... the vacation.

i'm going to be posting a few "a little late..." blog posts. these are posts that i meant to post a while back but we've been pretty busy.

here is our first one. we took a trip about 1.5 hours away from town and enjoyed a few days on the sea. twas nice. we stayed at a ramada inn and it was very very nice. we had a sweet suite. they don't have any rooms that don't have at least 2 rooms, a kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a nice big family room. our patio also opened up onto the pool area and it was great.

Here is the view from our patio. You can see beautiful flowers out by the pool.

Our room was just on down this path on the right. The path to the left of us would lead us down to the beach. The first two nights we actually ate dinner down on the beach. The hotel cost actually includes two meals (breakfast and dinner). This is because this resort area doesn't exactly have a town where you can just walk around in and find restaurants. Pretty much everything that you do in this area is centered around what your hotel has to offer.

Landon woke up early one day from his nap and was super cranky. After hanging out with us a few minutes on our bed he passed out again. he was so close the edge of the bed and we were worried about him falling on the tile... but we were worried that if we tried to move him toards the center of the bed he would wake up... catch 22... so i put about 5 pillows and a blanket over all of them to give him some padding in case he fell. he didn't fall and woke up happy. yay :)

Here are some good pool shots...

Landon and I near the stairs.

Landon and Yvonne having a great time together in the pool.

Landon had a great time building up his confidence and jumping pretty far and into the water with me. One time he jumped when we weren't ready... but it was in the kiddy pool side and I was right near him :)

Landon and mommy enjoying the drink of the day, the sunshine (lemon juice, 7up and cherry juice).

Landon just being his cuite self in the pool...

We thought this was interesting. Practically every piece of furniture had a sticker on it pointing towards mecca to make it easy for the muslim patrons to know which direction to pray towards.

the nightmare of fetlah... revisited!

Posted by Tim 21 August 2006 0 comments

Hey everyone... technology rules!!! I love being able to put these videos up here for you to watch. I will eventually make a link on the right to watch videos.

Anyways... many of you may recall a post i did on fetlah (click on that word to see the full post... or read the following excerpt...)

fetlah... so what it is is this: the guy takes a really long piece of dental floss type string and puts one end in between his teeth and then makes an intricate web of strings around his fingers. he then pulls it tight using his teeth so that all the little web holes close up... around the excess hairs on your face which rips them out with excrutiating force. my eyes were watering and on the verge of forming tears... especially when he did it around my ears. OUCH! after the fetlah and him trimming my nose hair, i feel all groomed up!

Well now that I have the ability to post video... I see it as my duty to bring you a video of my brother receiving the special treat of fetlah! Enjoy... you'll know that I did by how much I laughed in the background while filming it! haha...
